Buy 2 syringes of Juvederm Ultra or Juvederm Ultra Plus and Allergan will give you a rebate of $75.

To match Allergan’s offer, we’ll also take $75 off the second syringe.

That means your second syringe of Juvederm (normally $650) is only $500. So full correction with two syringes of Juvederm is only $1250 during the offer. (Usual full price is $1400)

And all of our Juvederm lip enhancement treatments include a dental nerve block so you don’t feel any pain during the injection.

This offer is only good for Juvederm services received on or before Friday, November 21, 2008. So call today at 1-888-800-8300 to schedule your appointment.

What is Juvederm?

Juvederm is a clear, smooth gel made out of hyaluronic acid (HA) - a natural substance that adds volume and hydration to your skin.

Where do I use Juvederm?

Juvederm is used to restore or add volume anywhere on the face. It is my favorite product for enhancing and sculpting the lips. It is also terrific for filling in folds, wrinkles and creases.

I have often used it to smooth the crease that runs from beside the nostrils to the corners of the mouth (nasolabial fold) and to hide puffy lower eyelids. Juvederm can be used to enhance the shape of the cheekbones.

Why is Juvederm Better?

Juvederm has all but replaces collagen as a filler. It’s smoother than collagen making it much easier to shape and sculpt with. Lumpiness and irregular contours are much less likely with Juvederm. Juvederm also lasts more than three times as long as collagen. Compared with Restylane, the other HA filler, Juvederm is softer and feels more natural. Most patients who have had both prefer Juvederm and say that it feels softer and more natural. Juvederm is also FDA-approved to last up to one year - about twice as long as Restylane.

How soon will I see results?

You see the results immediately with Juvederm. And the look continues to improve for 1-2 weeks as the Juvederm softens and draws moisture into the area.

How Long is the Recovery?

Most patients have only mild discomfort and downtime is minimal. You might have some mild swelling or firmness that usually resolves in a week or less. You also might bruise though most patients don’t. Bruising is usually mild and can be covered with lipstick or makeup.

How Long does a Juvederm Treatment Take?

Our Juvederm appointments are usually 30 minutes long. The injections usually take about 15 minutes and we add another 15 minutes to allow enough time for the numbing injections to work completely.

Does Juvederm Hurt?

In most cases, not at all. I can numb most areas of the face (lips, cheeks, eyelids, forehead) with local anesthetic nerve blocks. once this is done, you won’t feel the Juvederm injections.

How Many Syringes of Juvederm do I Need?

Most nasolabial folds will typically require two syringes to fully correct. One syringe of Juvederm is sometimes sufficient for mild nasolabial folds.

For lip augmentation, one syringe will sculpt and enhance the lips. The change will be noticeable but subtle. Two syringes will give a more dramatic size increase and enhancement.

As we age, our lips slowly lose volume. Women who have noticed this and want to restore lost volume will usually need two syringes of Juvederm.

I don’t care what substance you’re using - Juvederm, Restylane, Evolence - lip augmentation isn’t about blowing lips up. It’s about sculpting them. Pretty lips can come in all sizes but they always have a natural shape. They have a little bit of fullness in the central upper lip and in the middle of each side on the lower.

The lips in the picture (they belong to Lisa Rinna) are the exact opposite of the ideal lip shape. Here are some examples of natural-looking lip augmentations.

Lip augmentation isn’t just about putting in the right amount of Juvederm. It’s about putting the right amount in the right places.

I showed some results using this technique. Here are some new ones:

This 48-year-old, Dallas woman complained that in recent years her cheeks had sagged making her look tired. She also didn’t like the jowls that had formed along her jawline or the loose skin on her neck.

We performed a full facelift including, an Endotine midface lift, a jowl suture lift, a neck lift, and an Endotine endoscopic browlift.

Notice how this facelift technique restores gentle fullness in the upper cheekbones. The jowls are gone and the neck is smooth. This is the soft look of youth.

Have you ever seen a liposuction? Between all the plastic surgery TV shows and YouTube, I’ll bet the answer is, “Yes.” I’m also willing to bet you didn’t think that liposuction procedure looked very pretty.

You really need to wipe that image from your brain because Vaser lipo procedures look nothing like that.

With regular liposuction, the plastic surgeon uses a hollow metal rod called a cannula hooked to a vacuum pump. He passes the cannula through the fat and the suction pulls globs of fat into holes at the end of the cannula. The fat gets torn off, sucked down the tube and into the machine.

The problem is it takes force to push the cannula through the fat. That’s why you see plastic surgeons on TV just hammering away with the cannula. But that’s your body they’re hammering and all that pounding is going to hurt the next day.

Contrast with the Vaser. The Vaser starts the process with a fine titanium ultrasound probe. Using a small incision, I pass this probe through the fat we want to treat. The ultrasound breaks up and liquefies the fat as we pass through it. When that’s done, we extract the fat with gentle, atraumatic cannulas.

The beauty of this is that the ultrasound does the work. The probe glides through your fat smoothly with little force. Easier on me. More importantly, easier on you. Less force means less trauma and that means less pain (also less bruising and swelling.)

So the first big advantage of Vaser ultrasonic liposuction is a much easier recovery.

More to come soon. In the mean time, you can see some Vaser liposuction results here.

Times Facelift Article">big comeback in 2007. After falling in popularity for several years, facelift surgeries were up 14% nationwide last year. We’re definitely seeing this trend in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. There are 3 reasons this is happening:

Baby Boomers Are Aging

The entire baby boom population is now somewhere in the facelift age range. This is why most authors think facelifts are on the rise. But there are two other important reasons that have gone unnoticed.

Non-Invasives Are Overrated

I’m referring to things like Botox, Restylane, Juvederm, Thermage, threadlifts - the list is endless. We’ve talked about this several times on our Plastic Surgery Today Radio Show(Saturdays at 3 P.M. CST on KLLI 105.3, Dallas.) Some of these are really good products, some aren’t. But none of them is a substitute for a good facelift.

The bottom line is:

If you need a facelift, you need a facelift. All the non-invasives in the world won’t change that.

I’ve seen many facelift consults who’ve had Juvederm and Radiesse and Thermage and Lifestyle lifts and thread lifts. Because at one time or another, someone had sold them each of these procedures as a minimally-invasive facelift alternative.

But none of these products worked well. Because what was needed was a real facelift. Which brings us back to “if you need a facelift, you need a facelift.”

Don’t get me wrong. I do a lot of Botox and Juvederm. They are terrific products. But only when they’re used for the right reasons. Try to use them to replace a facelift and you waste your money. And end up disappointed.

Facelifts Are Better Than You Thought

Facelifts have gotten a bad rap. Say “facelift” to most people and they picture some aging celebrity with strange-looking, pulled-tight face. Everyone has an example of a bad facelift. Few people have a clear image of a good one.

But those great facelifts are out there. They’re walking around all over Dallas. You just don’t see them because they don’t attract attention to themselves.

Men and women with great facelifts don’t look tight or fake or weird. They just look good.

Facelift techniques are much better than they used to be. I now use methods that lift the face from the inside out. These methods lift it upward. They don’t pull it backward. Here’s an example of one of these natural facelifts. More facelift photos can be found here.

Facelifts work. A well done, modern facelift makes you look younger and better. That’s why it’s a procedure on the rise.
